I don’t really have anything to talk about (write about? type about? Sweet merciful crap that sounds lame.) but I don’t want that stupid sonofbitch floor to be at the top of the blog anymore, so how about banal musings about my everyday life?
I’ve been watching that show Heroes, and yesterday I spent six hours catching up on the episodes I missed by watching the Heroes marathon on Sci Fi. This makes me think of a few things. For one, it’s been years since I’ve been so devoted to a show. The Simpson’s is about as close as I get to a religion, and even I couldn’t tell you when it comes on, or what channels it’s on. Every time I want to turn on The Simpson’s I have to ask Mrs. ACW whether or not it’s even on at that time (it runs for an hour and a half each evening) and what channel I have to tune to to catch the show. So it makes me feel kind of dirty to know that Heroes comes on at 9 on Mondays on NBC, and at our house that’s channel 4.
It also makes me feel kind of dirty that I sat around and watched 6 hours of TV yesterday. Good grief that’s depressing. I know some people can really unwind in front of the TV, but I feel like it makes my brain melty. I must have seen the same 6 or 7 commercials about 25 times, and that makes me feel really stupid.
The other problem is that I’m still missing one episode, episode seven, so I’m still a little lost about how some things in recent episodes have come to transpire. Maybe I can find it on You Tube or something.
Have 3 projects left for the semester and one exam, all for one class. I have a paper to turn in tonight, another paper and a presentation on that paper next week, and I pick up my exam that day too, and then I turn in my exam the week after. So you’ll have to forgive me if the next couple of weeks are sporadic blog-wise.
And that about wraps things up. If you’re still reading at this point, you must REALLY be bored.

I tivo’d all of those episodes based solely on your recommendation. I watched the pilot and boy is that show shit hot.
I was looking at upcoming episodes on SciFi, and it looks like episode 7 will be coming up on Friday and episode 8 will be coming up next Friday (they’re already queued up and ready to record). So if you miss it, just come over and nab it.
I have a feeling Heros is going to turn into as lame a show as Lost. It started out strong but instead of answering all the questions and moving the hell on, they’re going to stretch it out and it’s going to suck. This upcoming episode is supposed to be the last “before the new year” - pfft.
I’m in love with Grey’s Anatomy. Now that’s a really awesome show. I haven’t been so dedicated to a show since The X-Files was on. I now live for Thursday nights.
Oh, how I wish I had Tivo. Sadly, I never get home before 6 at night. Then, I have to cook dinner and help with homework, and blah, blah, blah. By the time I can sit and relax, it’s nearly 9 and time for sleep so I can get up and do it all again tomorrow. I miss TV.
So watching TV melts your brain, but video games dont? Having DVR helps with the commercial issue.
Heroes rocks! And while I’ve gone on record a couple times calling it the new Lost, there’s nothing wrong with the real Lost. It’s not like we’re 5 seasons in and don’t know anything. Sheesh.
I agree about Heroes and Lost. Lost started out good, but is getting lame, like the X-Files at the end. They need to end Heroes after 2 or 3 seasons, or it will probably start to suck ass.
BTW, If you’re really short on blogging material, feel free to participate in my Lamest Contest Ever.
Never saw the show. My clicker rarely goes beyond The History Channel, National Geographic Channel, ESPN, Science Channel and Law and Order reruns.
I love Heroes. But I agree, it’s already had some episodes that totally freakin’ dragged on and nothing moved forward.
Yeah, heros. Cool stuff. Episode 9 was full of awesome thrills. Episode 10 was a sort of flash-backy episode that’s connecting recent events with past events.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I concede sir. You have won. I cannot come to mind what song that line at the top of your blog (underneath the title) comes from. I am knowing it is TMBG, but which one I cannot think of….
Damn you.
Aha. My friend, the vague portal of useless knowledge and other lambasting ideals, has reminded me.
It would seem the vast amounts of alcohol I’ve been consuming have interrupted my brain functions.
However,I retort:
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
My Tivo says TV is good for me… it records all my favorite shows.
Or…..
You could go to the Heroes website and watch some of the episdoes you missed. I heard they have them there.
Heroes = Television crack. I actually look forward to Mondays now.
I hate that I don’t get the SciFi channel.
Huzzah for CHannel 4!
Go back to Minimumsafedistance… we have another election to lampoon in only two years!!
I can relate to that feeling. I LOVE the TV, but several hours in a row makes me feel lazy and jittery about doing nothing.
I minimize those nagging feels (conscience) by buying or renting a season on DVD (when applicable). I still get my shows, avoid commercials which I hate, and take up additional time.
That’s what I’ve been doing with “Lost”. It’s been great because I don’t have to have the commercials to slow things down, nor do I have to wait “next week” to see what happens. I do have to wait until I have free time, but that’s not so bad. It makes me feel good when I actually get off my butt and do something - then it’s my sweet sweet reward…
That’s funny…I only realized when I scrolled up that I had not actually finished reading your post (including the part about being really bored if you are still reading :)).
I forgot. What are you studying now?
Chunky Monkey- Applied Sociology.
I think you can watch them for free on the Heroes web site…
(I’m addicted, too.)
Check out smallville… It’s addictive, and the first four seasons are like, 20 bucks per on dvd… and it’s superman.
